ASLCSCC President Indrananda Abeysekera Becomes First Foreign Honorary Council Member of YNPAFFC
Chinamirror.lk is delighted to announce that Mr. Indrananda Abeysekera, President of the Association for Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Cooperation (ASLCSCC), has been distinguished with a rare honor by the Yunnan People’s Association with Foreign Countries (YNPAFFC)—his appointment as an Honorary Member of its First Council.
A steadfast friend to Yunnan and the YNPAFFC, Mr. Abeysekera’s deep ties with the province date back to his first visit in 1987, a connection he has lovingly nurtured through more than 20 subsequent trips.
The official presentation took place in Kunming on July 12th, where YNPAFFC Secretary General, Mr. Cao Zhiqin, formally conferred the Honorary Council membership certificate and the association’s prestigious golden badge upon him. Highlighting the significance of the occasion, Mr. Cao emphasized that this historic appointment marks the very first time the YNPAFFC has elected a foreign national to this esteemed council position.
