China Mirror magazine asked from Ms. Qiao Xi the Secretary-General of Kunming Guandu District Flower Industry Development Association to introduce its objectives, structure and vision and mission.

She said, Kunming Guandu District Flower Industry Development Association was established on March 9, 2023. The competent authority of the association is the Guandu District Civil Affairs Bureau, and the business guidance department is the Guandu District Agricultural and Rural Bureau.

The association is committed to providing services for the cluster-based full-industry chain development of Guandu’s flower industry, breaking through bottlenecks, shortcomings, and institutional/mechanistic obstacles that restrict the development of the flower industry. It aims to promote the scientific, healthy, and leapfrog development of Guandu’s flower industry, awaken the historical memory of flower planting in Kunming’s urban area, beautify rural homelands, and reproduce the elegance of Guandu’s urban modern agriculture she added.

As she said Purposes of the Association are abide by the Constitution, laws, regulations, and national policies, and observe social ethics and morals, play the role of a bridge and bond in ‘organization, coordination, guidance, and service’, providing consultations for the government and services for members and industry development, Serve the development of urban and rural economies, increase people’s income, advance the modernization of Guandu’s agriculture and rural areas, promote rural vitalization, and build a beautiful Guandu. Unite and organize association members.

As we understood, the establishment of the association is a major event in the development process of Guandu District’s flower industry, and a significant milestone in promoting the integrated development of the industry to a new level. Guandu District has always been a model for agricultural industrial structure adjustment in Yunnan. Although it is not a primary flower-producing area, Guandu’s flower industry faces the global market while leaning on the Dounan Flower Market. However, with socio-economic development and national industrial policy adjustments, conflicts and uncoordinated issues in the development of Guandu’s flower industry have gradually emerged. Therefore, establishing a highly cohesive and influential flower industry social organization to build an effective bridge and communication link between the market and the government is essential to better regulate market behaviors, guide the direction of industry development, and create greater value.
