Good Morning. Ayubowan!

(We love China and the Chinese people.)

Today is a wonderful day for our Sri Lankan media delegation.

Professor Cao Peixin, Vice Dean of the School of Journalism, Communication University of China, Wang Tingyao Deputy Chief Editor of Yunnan Daily, Madam Wang Dan, Madam Wang Huan, the Person in Charge of Yunnan Gateway Website , and Mr. Zu Hongbing Coordinator YICC and Dear Sri Lanka China Media Friends,

A team of 19 Sri Lankan media personnel had the opportunity to engage in media study and training at various locations in Yunnan Province, China.

First, I thank the Yunnan International Communication Center for South and East Asia for this arrangement. I also extend my gratitude to all the Chinese parties involved in this program, including Madam Wang Huan and Mr. Zu Hongbing and Staff members.

So, I thank Lectures and all the parties who supported us during our visits to the tourist sites.

I also thank the Association for Sri Lanka-China Social and Cultural Cooperation and there President Mr Indrananda Abeysekera (Chinese popular name is ABEY) for coordinating and bringing together media personnel for this media tour. During this tour, we were able to gain a vast number of valuable experiences.

So Special thanks for our Team Leader Deputy Derector of International News department and Director of International Exchange Department of SLRC Mr Mothilal Hisella.

We were able to disseminate the knowledge gained about coffee and tea in Yunnan Province, China, to Sri Lanka as well as other countries through the media outlets we represent. I hope to further widely publicize the video footage and information we obtained after returning to Sri Lanka.

I have visited China 9 times for travel.

I have traveled to 5 provinces in China. Through the Belt and Road concept, I was able to see how China is developing and how it will reach the number one position in the world in just a few more years. China has completed its poverty alleviation efforts.

Actually,

We were able to witness the efforts made by the Yunnan provincial government to accelerate the development of this province and thereby secure the future of the Chinese people. We were also able to gain a broad understanding of the development of the rural economy, the use of technology, coffee and tea production, and the efforts made to protect natural and cultural world heritage.

Furthermore, we were able to gain a correct understanding of the cooperation maintained with friendly countries in the implementation of China’s state policies.

I would also like to mention that this program, carried out by the Yunnan International Communication Center for South and East Asia, was able to enhance media cooperation between the two countries.

I look forward to further developing this media relationship with the Yunnan International Communication Center for South and East Asia. I sincerely hope and pray that the friendship between the peoples of our two countries will continue to flourish.

May the friendship between Sri Lanka and China continue to flourish for generations to come.

Thank you very much.
我们多彩云南再见!

See you again in Colorful Yunnan!
